Ace my boxer/lab mix had his front left leg removed last Thursday due to a cancerous bone tumor. We were very nervous for the surgery but he has made some excellent recovery up to this point. He is able to up and down off the couch with no help and is getting up and going outside on his own. But today we noticed that he is still shivering and panting quite a bit.

Welcome and best wishes for Ace. It is still very early in his recovery, and getting on/off the couch is not recommended until fully healed. Panting is also a common side effect of some pain meds – especially Tramadol, which many of the best vets agree is not effective pain management.
